The country's Prime Minister, Péter Magyar, made this demand at the Visegrád Group (Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic) summit in Bratislava.
According to Magyar, the European Union is facing a fuel shortage due to conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East.
"The state budgets of [EU] member countries cannot withstand these fiscal strains. <...> Even as we speak, dozens of Central European companies are going bankrupt because they cannot afford the cost of electricity or gas. I would like to see concrete, quantified proposals in the seven-year budget: specifically, what kind of support and assistance—and how much of it—will be provided here in Central Europe," Magyar said.
