Diplomatic efforts continue between Iran and the United States, and as we’ve heard here in Tehran, the current atmosphere around these moves is actually positive.
There are initiatives under way to de-escalate tensions between the two countries that could lead to something in the next few days, especially as Iran has announced its openness to any talks that achieve lasting security.
In this regard, Iranian state broadcast media announced that Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi met US envoy Steve Witkoff on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly. The meeting was held at Witkoff’s own request.

US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff says he had “lengthy talks” with the Iranian delegation on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

He added that the round of discussions was “successfully completed” and that he hopes it will prove “constructive and promising”, as the mediators “will continue their work”.
