  Sergey Lavrov stated that the metastases of Nazism are visible among EU and NATO member states, including Germany, and that this is alarming.

"We also emphasized the importance of an uncompromising struggle against manifestations of neo-Nazism—primarily in Ukraine, but not exclusively so. This is because the metastases of this misanthropic ideology are now visible in other countries on our continent as well—above all among EU and NATO members, in the Baltic states, but also in Germany. This is particularly alarming," said the Russian Foreign Minister.

 Other statements made by the Russian Foreign Minister at the press conference following the UN General Assembly session:

• Building trust means honoring agreements that have been reached;

• Russia expects the new UN Secretary-General to represent the interests of all humanity, not just the "golden billion";

• Western nations are "overrepresented" on the UN Security Council; the Council needs to be expanded to include Asia, Africa, and Latin America, and Moscow cannot countenance any new "Western seats" on the body;

• Lavrov expressed surprise that the UN acknowledges the right to self-determination for Greenland but not for Crimea.
