Netanyahu: The Flydubai pilot who stabbed his colleague is being detained in Saudi Arabia

 The co-pilot who stabbed his colleague on Flydubai flight FZ1073 this Wednesday is currently detained and being questioned by Saudi Arabian authorities, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced. The leader described the event as a "security incident of extreme gravity."

"The pilot who committed the assault has been detained and is currently being questioned by Saudi authorities. We are maintaining continuous contact with the relevant authorities to ensure the passengers' well-being and guarantee their safe return home," he said.

The Prime Minister added that Israel is maintaining "close contact with the relevant authorities to ensure the protection of the passengers and guarantee their safe return to the country." He further noted that he had instructed law enforcement agencies to prepare for potential additional threats while situation assessments are underway.
