The U.S. military has developed new attack plans against Iran—including the use of the so-called "mother of all bombs" (GBU-43/B MOAB), which is capable of destroying deep-underground bunkers—amidst a stalemate in negotiations and mounting pressure to end the conflict.
According to U.S. officials cited by CNN, this weapon, the largest non-nuclear bomb in the U.S. arsenal, would be used to strike Iranian energy infrastructure and nuclear facilities should President Donald Trump order a resumption of hostilities.
One source suggested that such strikes could be carried out "prior to the U.S. withdrawal from the CENTCOM area of responsibility," implying that the administration might intend to conduct further bombing raids, declare victory, and rapidly withdraw all stationed troops.
