Polish president heads to Constitutional Court amid protest outside

Polish President Karol Nawrocki left the presidential palace in Warsaw and headed for the Constitutional Court building, where a protest involving opposition leaders is taking place, Polish presidential Chief of Staff Pawel Szefernaker said.

"President Karol Nawrocki, accompanied by First President of the Supreme Court Zbigniew Kapinski, entered the Constitutional Court building," Szefernaker wrote on X.

Telewizja Republika, a Polish television channel, reported that police did not allow members of the presidential security to enter the building.

An attempt was made to prevent Nawrocki from entering the Constitutional Court building in Warsaw, according to a video posted on X by newly appointed Constitutional Court judge Maciej Berek.

Polish protesters are demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Donald Tusk, amid unrest shaking the country following the crisis surrounding the Constitutional Tribunal.

Using a projector, participants in the protest displayed the slogan "Down with Tusk!" on the building's facade. Many took to the streets carrying Polish flags and placards that read: "Enough of Tusk's illegal actions!"
