On October 20, U.S. President Donald Trump acknowledged that European countries are experiencing fatigue regarding the conflict in Ukraine.
"The U.S. has spent a fortune , and so has Europe; the Europeans are frankly tired of it all," he told reporters at the White House.
According to Trump, Ukraine itself must show a willingness to negotiate. He noted that if the parties fail to reach an agreement, the situation will only continue to deteriorate.
Just a day earlier, Trump had suggested that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy does not want the conflict to end.

US President Donald Trump said Tuesday that the European Union is getting “tired of spending” money on Ukraine and urged Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to reach a deal to end the war with Russia.
ReplyDelete“European Union has quite a bit of money, although I have to tell you they’re getting tired of spending it,” Trump told reporters at the Oval Office.
“Ukraine has to want to settle this war. Zelenskyy has to want to settle this war, and if he doesn’t, I think it’s going to be a very bad thing,” he said.
“The United States has spent a fortune. Europe has spent a fortune. Europe’s tired of it right now,” Trump said.
“We have given tremendous amounts to Ukraine. We've got nothing back, other than high diesel (prices),” he added.
