Europe continues to purchase Russian diesel, despite a ban that has been in place for several years, stated Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak.
Europeans may acquire Russian gas or other energy products through a third country. "Such cases are possible. Although Europe has banned the purchase of Russian oil and petroleum products, we observe that Russian diesel still occasionally appears in Europe under different labels," he noted.
Novak also pointed to the low level of gas reserves in European underground storage facilities is ahead of winter. "Historically, reserves in underground gas storage facilities are at their lowest today, and how Europeans are going to live through the winter is another story," he added.
