Pakistan strikes 10 targets in Afghanistan as tensions rise

Pakistan’s military said it carried out air and drone strikes on ten locations inside Afghanistan, targeting sites it described as linked to attacks launched from Afghan territory.

The Pakistani military said the strikes targeted sites linked to militant groups operating near the border. The operation follows repeated accusations from Islamabad that armed groups based in Afghanistan have carried out attacks inside Pakistan.

Afghan authorities have previously accused Pakistan of violating Afghan sovereignty during similar operations.

Relations between the two neighbours have deteriorated in recent months, with Kabul rejecting Pakistan’s claims and criticizing cross-border strikes as violations of Afghan sovereignty.
