The U.S. State Department and the Pentagon warned Ukraine and its European allies that the U.S. could suspend intelligence sharing with Kyiv and European arms purchases for Ukraine if it continues to attack Russian refineries, CNN reports, citing various sources.
According to the sources, the warnings were issued last weekend and included direct messages from U.S. military officials to Ukrainian commanders.
Earlier, U.S. media outlets revealed that the Trump administration threatened to suspend intelligence sharing and the PURL arms procurement program as a pressure tactic to get Kyiv to halt the attacks. According to Axios, a White House official stated that "Trump is really angry" because he "feels that Zelensky is taking U.S. support for granted."
