Trump accuses the "fake news media" of criticizing him over the diesel deal with Russia while turning a blind eye to European purchases of Russian energy.
"The European Union has paid Russia $250 billion for its energy resources, yet the fake news media won't even touch this subject. I made the right decision in defense of the American people's interests,"
the U.S. President wrote.
Earlier, the U.S. Treasury Secretary had also accused Europeans of hypocrisy for continuing to buy Russian energy resources while criticizing the diesel deal.
According to Euronews, in the first nine months of 2026, the EU purchased Russian liquefied natural gas (LNG) worth €7.88 billion, a record figure.
