The crowds set the parliament on fire and threw stones and Molotov cocktails at the police.
The demonstrators initially took to the streets two days ago citing education issues, but now accuse the government of widespread corruption and call for the Prime Minister Edi Rama to leave his position.
To date, over 70 people have been detained and 50 policemen injured.
