The Romanian Navy’s Maritime Coordination Center reports that, this morning, a kamikaze drone attacked the San Marino-flagged vessel Wine Trader while it was sailing in the Black Sea, approximately 13 nautical miles southeast of the city of Sulina. The attack caused a fire on board.
Eight of the 12 crew members are missing. A search and rescue operation involving helicopters and rescue vessels has been launched. The other four crew members are safe.
The incident occurred following the detection of unidentified drones in Romanian airspace.
It is worth noting that yesterday, another vessel, the Yara J, was also struck in the same area.
