President Masoud Pezeshkian has called on Muslim countries to strengthen regional cooperation against “Israeli aggression” and US-backed efforts “to divide” the Middle East.
Speaking at a meeting in Tehran with Saudi Defence Minister Khalid bin Salman, Pakistan’s army chief Asim Munir, and Turkish intelligence chief Ibrahim Kalin, Pezeshkian said Iran is ready to support strengthened unity, security and development among Muslim nations.
He condemned Israeli attacks on Gaza, Lebanon, Iran and other parts of the region.
Iran isn’t seeking nuclear weapons but insists on its right to pursue peaceful nuclear activities under the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, Pezeshkian added.
He criticised “contradictory US policies” including engaging in negotiations while attacking Iran and its nuclear facilities.
