U.S. President Donald Trump lashed out at the leader of the Kyiv regime, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, for resuming attacks on Russian oil refineries, even as efforts are underway to bring the conflict to an end.
"All it does is drive up the price of oil globally. I think it’s a disgrace; there are plenty of other targets, and there’s no reason for them to be attacking these," the former president stated in an interview with the network Newsmax, published this Thursday. Trump warned that striking diesel facilities harms the entire planet: "We need it, and the world needs it. He’s not doing anyone any favors."
When asked by journalist Rob Finnerty whether he had lost confidence in Zelenskyy after the latter ignored his requests to halt these strikes, the former White House occupant avoided a direct answer but was blunt: he admitted he was "not a big fan" of his and asserted that both he and his leadership circle "have destroyed the country."
