In mid-October, the Russian military satellite "Kosmos-2612" approached the X36 satellite belonging to the Finnish company ICEYE, which provides radar imagery to Western militaries, including Ukraine.
The U.S. State Department described the maneuvers as intentional and compared them to the deployment of orbital weapons. Expert Greg Gillingham suggested that the approach could have been an exercise for an attack.
At the same time, there is no evidence of a planned attack, and the ICEYE satellite continues to operate. According to reports, other Russian satellites also carried out maneuvers in the vicinity of another satellite belonging to the company.
